Good morning. I am fired up right now. I just woke up. I saw a message that really, really bothers me. And I have to say something about it. I’m like, hold on. Honestly, I feel like I’m kind of pissing vinegar right now because I’m really bothered by this like really, really bothered by this. I got a message. I made a recommendation. I don’t make recommendations to people unless if it’s something that I believe in, like I’m not somebody that ever gives advice. I don’t give advice without somebody asking, but if somebody, if I make a recommendation or somebody comes to me for help and I make a recommendation to them, then like, I, I do it with like everything in me.

I do a good morning, Lori. I do it because like, I don’t waste my breath. So when I make a recommendation for like a guest on a show, it’s because I believe in them. And I think that they have a very important story to tell. I think, frankly, all of you watching right now that I can see on my screen, have a very important story to tell your testimony is very powerful. Your story is powerful. And I just literally got a message that said, and this is probably passive aggressive, but I’m kind of talking to him directly too. I made a recommendation for a gentleman to be a guest on a show.

Joshua T Berglan

00:01:34

I don’t make those recommendations. Not unless if they’re important, this message said, I looked them up and it, I don’t get it. Why would you want me to make, why would you want me to make a recommendation? Or why would you want me to have, why would you want me to have him on my show was the response. And nevermind the fact that I’ve spent hours helping this dude, like, so there’s been multiple guests that have been on his show that I’ve recommended. Nevermind. All that he’s questioning me because the guy doesn’t have a social media following. And let me tell you something that the podcast host and the podcast or the TV host out there, if you’re rejecting guest, because they don’t have a huge following.

Joshua T Berglan

00:02:22

You’re part of the problem. Like You discuss me like I’m so just, I want to vomit all over you because you’re part of the problem. What do you think you are Hollywood? Like for real, no one that has a podcast and no one that has a TV show is too good to reject another human beings. Amazing story. No, one’s that cool. And let’s face it going into the new world. Here’s the truth. Here’s a truth bomb for every single one of you who have this ego thing right now about your podcast and your TV show who freaking doesn’t have a TV show. Streaming TV is like the most accessible thing like it.

Joshua T Berglan

00:03:04

Whenever we’ve got a YouTube show, I’ve got a Facebook show. I’ve got a podcast, I’ve got an Amazon fire show. It doesn’t really even mean anything. It doesn’t mean anything, especially if your priorities are screwed up, because if you think you’re going to be the next Joe Rogan, you think you’re going to be the next ed, my let you think you’re going to be the next Tom fricking cruise. I got news for you. It ain’t happening. And here’s why it’s not happening. The day of celebrity is dead. The day they have been ultra famous is dead. The whole point of having talk shows. And I know so many people got into it because they genuinely want to be a voice for people.

Joshua T Berglan

00:03:45

But when you start questioning people’s followings and you don’t want to have them on their guests, but yet you put yourself out there, like you’re some person that cares about other people and you care about their story. You’re a hypocrite. And I promise you you’ll be exposed. Like there’s going to be moving forward. I’m telling you right now, there’ll be micro celebrities. In other words, the modern day celebrity is basically where everybody gets a piece of the pie. It’s kind of like a, it’s kind of like communism. Celebrity is going to be like communism, basically. Like there’s going to be no ultra famous people. It’s just not going to happen.

Joshua T Berglan

00:04:27

So to think that you’re too good to have somebody on their show that has a powerful story. Yes. It must be of Jesus. The kingdom, Jesus, people are going to be the new celebrities. That’s that is, that is true. But they’re going to be celebrities for the right reasons. And it’s not going to look like the Tom cruise celebrity. It’s just not, but don’t think you’re too good to have a guest on. And I’m sorry that I’m all fired up and I’m lecturing right now, but I’m seeing it happen. You start looking at their numbers, you start looking at like how many followers they have, how many likes they get on their posts? What if that person doesn’t know how to use social media, but they have a powerful story. What if their story?

Joshua T Berglan

00:05:06

Like what if you were the vehicle, you were the host, right? What if you were the host that got to unveil a story that could change the lives of thousands? Like if you think you’re that cool. Why don’t you elevate your guest? If you think you’re such a great host, then elevate the voice of your guests and make them a rock star. You know what a real rock star is? You know what a real awesome host is a host that makes their guest look like an icon. Look like the hero. That is a good host.

Joshua T Berglan

00:05:47

You don’t need a celebrity guest to make you popular. I’ve had celebrities on my show. It doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t change because in the end you still are you about the message. It’s not about how popular the person is. Listen, I’ve opened this up and I’ve, I got like, even the person that I’m calling out right now, I’m letting you know, I got 50 times the audience you do. And that’s not, it doesn’t even mean anything, but here’s the thing. I don’t care who you are.

Joshua T Berglan

00:06:27

If you want to come share your story on my show, you want to share what Jesus has done in your life. You’re welcome. I don’t care how many followers you have. I don’t care if you’ve ever been on camera before. You’re welcome on gratitude, unfiltered. I mean, look, if you’re not going to talk about Jesus, I can’t have you on because that’s what gratitude I filtered is is a testimony. It’s a ministry. That’s okay. Only discrimination I have. And I, and it’s just because it’s, it’s a faith based show, but it’s not based on your following. I don’t care if you have two Facebook friends, if you have a testimony to share and what God’s done in your life, you’re welcome on my show. I’m never, I don’t care how many trips around the world that I have.

Joshua T Berglan

00:07:11

I don’t care how many TV shows that I’m on. I’m never going to be too good to be able to set the stage for someone to share their testimony about what Jesus has done in their life. Don’t be so cool. You can’t have a guest without a following on your show, because if you shut up and listen to their story, maybe that story, maybe you’re the one that launches their career. One of my favorite things, I’ve been a radio geek my whole life. Like I’ve listened to talk radio since I was a child. I love infomercials. And I mean, I’ve talked about all this before, but one of the things that I remember hearing when I was young, it was on OB and Anthony of all things, OPN S I like shock jock stuff.

Joshua T Berglan

00:07:57

Anyway, they had a chance to interview. Godsmack remember God smacked the metal band. And some of you probably don’t listen to God’s smack, but they had a chance to, to play their music on their show. And they trashed the CD and blew them off. This is God smack before they were Godsmack. How many other people had that opportunity to be the one to break the big story, the one to give the opportunity for the person to be on TV the first time that was going to launch their career. Isn’t it more cool to be the one that elevates the other person, instead of elevating yourself to thinking that you’re so freaking cool that you can’t have a guest on, because they’re not famous enough.

Joshua T Berglan

00:08:45

You’re saying that like, they disgust me, like, I’ve seen the post of like, I’m coming at you, Joe Rogan. First of all, you don’t even know how the podcast game works. If you like, that’s what you’re doing. Like a lot of those people are buying their listeners. That’s just how it is. It’s a game. Very few people do it organically, but YouTube is not done organically. It’s just, it’s all a big game. Right? And, and the fact is this that no, one’s going to be the ultra famous anymore. So why in the hell are you stepping on people’s heads on the way up, be the one to elevate the other person, quit judging based on social media success and social media, like the popularity, because it doesn’t really even mean anything.

Joshua T Berglan

00:09:35

Heck half the people I’ve seen with giant followings, half their followings are gone. Now, like some people are shadow banned because of what they talk about. Quit judging people based on their social media status. Especially if you’re a host. If they got an awesome story or somebody with credibility makes a recommendation saying they’re going to be a good guest for you. And they’ve helped you in the past. And they’ve been right every time they’ve helped you. Why would you question them? Why would you question it? But dude, haven’t open heart hosts. Don’t think you’re so cool.

Joshua T Berglan

00:10:15

Be the one to set the table for someone else. Life isn’t about us. Anyway. It’s about how we get to serve. It’s about how we get to elevate others. It’s about how we get to pour gifts into other people. No one is that cool to dismiss somebody because they don’t have a social media following. So I’m putting it out there. I’m begging you. Other hosts out there have a change of heart. Don’t judge based on popularity. And at the same time, don’t be scared to go after big guests. There’s nothing wrong with that. All they can do is say no. And they will say no, because you don’t have a big following. That’s the way it works, but it’s not right.

Joshua T Berglan

00:10:56

Be different than everybody else be different. Don’t be like everybody else who is judging based on profiles. Like even right now, like if you’re trying to get an acting job, they look at your following. So people are going out and buying fake followings. It’s a BS game and it’s wrong. B the D the difference be the one that’s different. Sure. If it’s a garbage story and it’s like not authentic and it’s not real, then don’t have it. But if it’s like a real story, powerful story that could impact lives, just maybe just possibly have an open mind, have an open heart, and I’m open it up.

Joshua T Berglan

00:11:42

If you want to come on gratitude and filter it and share your testimony about your life with Jesus, reach out to me. I’ll have you one. I’m not judging based on how cool you are, because in the, in the end, I don’t care what the world says about you. I care about what God says about you. And frankly, what God says about you is the only thing that really matters, not even what I say. It’s what God says about you and God thinks you’re pretty freaking awesome. And, and the story about what Jesus did in your life is pretty freaking awesome too. And you don’t need a huge social media following to have an impact on people’s lives. So I’m here. You can come on my show.

Joshua T Berglan

00:12:22

You can share your story with no issue. I don’t care. It’s time to change your attitude because you guys are not going to be the mega celebrity that you think you’re going to be. If you’re judging based on your, like who you’re going to have on your show, based on their following, just in, for a rude awakening. And by, and again, you’re streaming TV show. When your podcast, it doesn’t make you cool. It’s cool that you have it, but it doesn’t make you any more special because we all know that you pay to be on streaming TV. No one paid you to have a streaming TV show.

Joshua T Berglan

00:13:04

You paid to be on it. You paid for that, right? Frankly, most people on TV pay for that opportunity. It doesn’t make you cool. It just means that you have money in your bank account to do it. That’s what it means. So you’re not that cool. And I’m not that cool either. I’m not, I’m probably, this is the most douche-y thing I’ve ever done on a Facebook live, but I’m so mad that another person is being discriminated against who has the most amazing story, but we’re like, they’re not cool. They’re they don’t have a big enough following with who I don’t. I don’t get it. It’s disgusting. It’s so disgusting.

Joshua T Berglan

00:13:46

Like, we are here to elevate the people around us. We were here. If we have a platform at all, we are here to use our platforms to elevate others, nothing less, nothing more. It’s not about elevating you. The attitude of elevating yourself is exactly what is going to make you fall. And it is not a pretty fall. So I’m done complaining. Now, you guys have a blessed day. I’m going to go to church and pray about not wanting to bite his face off. God bless.
